All day long we have to use our brains to think, think, think—sometimes we need a break! Doodling is a fun and easy way to take a break from schoolwork and screens and create something for no reason at all. Sometimes we feel creative but don’t have the time to get out all of our paints and start a big project, but with doodling, you can spend 5 minutes doing it, or an hour—whatever works!
In this workshop with Kirby Woodson, we learn how to draw an assortment of items, all of which are playful in form: faces and their expressions, flowers and foliage, animals and so on. Each participant will leave with a greeting card she has made with some of her new doodle techniques as well as guide sheets for the elements learned.
This workshop is a reminder that sometimes our overloaded brains need a break. Doodling can be a form of meditation, and a time to focus on one thing for the sole purpose of enjoyment. This class is appropriate for ages 12+.
