Tahoe Area Based Interior Designer Scott Corridan Covers Costs Aug. 17-19
TRUCKEE, Calif. (July 31, 2017) – Potential pet owners can have adoption fees sponsored at the Scott Corridan Design Adoption Days August 17-19 at the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe. Corridan, a local interior designer, is an ardent animal lover and was inspired by a similar event in the Sacramento area.
“I was blown away by the generosity and unbelievable impact it created,” Corridan, who has three dogs and two horses of his own, said. “I don’t know if I’m the recipient of a ‘pay it forward’ moment but I was moved to do something for our community.”
While Corridan has supported HSTT’s efforts in the past, this is the first time he’s taken on an individual event that directly benefits pets and owners. He adds that the event is a way to guarantee dollars are actually working. “Let’s make this a challenge,” he said. “Let’s come together with the incredible team at HSTT and empty the shelter.”
Stephanie Nistler, executive director of HSTT, says they generally have 10-15 dogs and 8-25 cats available for adoption. The three-day adoption event will also include a designer photo booth for pets (courtesy of Corridan). If new pet owners are able to “paw” it forward and make donations to the shelter, every dollar will count to making a lasting impact on future adoptions. Adoption fees range from $75 for cats to $150 for puppies (under four months).
“Scott is a true animal lover who goes above and beyond to find pets their forever families,” Nistler said. “The event is going to have a huge impact on so many little lives and it’s all made possible by Scott’s generosity.”
