BIG LIFE Connections Event: Mountain Bike Ride with the Mayor - Courtney Henderson

Try a new place to mountain bike ride and meet new friends! Join Truckee Mayor Courtney Henderson for one of her favorite mountain bike rides. This popular ride is an approximately 30-minute loop which we will do a couple of times. Depending on rider interest, we may add in a combination of El Burro, Jackass Point Spur, and Donkey Town Trail. It is an intermediate-level singletrack ride with fairly non-technical, flowy trails and a moderate physical rating. The ride will be approximately 1.5 hours (+/- 30 minutes). The gathering spot and parking for the ride is approximately 1/4 mile south of Truckee on Hwy. 89 (heading toward Lake Tahoe on the right immediately past West River Street). Riders will need to bring their own mountain bike, helmet, water, appropriate gear, food, and any drink they may need on the ride. At the end of the ride, there will be light refreshments to enjoy while you share in the camaraderie and fun of the ride.

About Mayor Courtney Henderson:

Courtney was elected to Truckee Town Council in November 2020, and named Mayor in December 2021. Courtney grew up in a rural, agricultural town of less than 2,000 people. She fell in love with Truckee in 2011 (on a mountain biking trip) when she found the same sense of community and connection to the land with which she grew up. She planted roots in Truckee shortly thereafter, integrating herself within the community and starting a family. She is a pro level downhill mountain bike racer, certified Level 2 BICP mountain bike coach, dirt biker, skier, and Olympic weightlifter. In her free time, you can find her hiking or riding our local trails with her family.
