In partnership with Etsy and the Truckee Roundhouse, Sierra Business Council (SBC) and the Sierra Small Business Development Center (Sierra SBDC) are excited to announce the return of the Etsy Craft Entrepreneurship course, an innovative program that provides micro-business training to adults with existing creative skills, to help supplement their income and sell their product to new markets.
New this spring, class will be held in the inspiring makerspace, the Truckee Roundhouse. Kicking off Wednesday May 3rd, accepted applicants will participate in a 5 part training program that will guide them through becoming craft entrepreneurs. The program utilizes Etsy’s platform for selling creative goods as the real-world learning lab and leverages the Sierra SBDC’s business expertise. Classes are taught by successful local jewelry designer Krista Tranquilla of Tranquilla Studios. Students will learn the basics of starting and running an online business. Participants are eligible to continue receiving assistance through Sierra SBDC’s free one-on-one business consulting services.
The Craft Entrepreneurship program at Truckee Roundhouse gives participants viable paths to supplement their income, which can make a real difference in their wellbeing. If you have an existing craft you would like to turn into a business, join us at the Truckee Roundhouse for the 3rd iteration of Etsy Craft Entrepreneurship. Space is limited and applications are required.
The program, which costs $25, will take place on May 3rd, 8th, 10th, and 15th from 6-8pm, with a four hour photography workshop on Saturday, May 13th at 8:30am.
If you are interested in participating, please see eligibility requirements and apply by May 1st.
