Fabric Collage & Surface Design

In this playful workshop with local artist Sara Smith, we will explore using fabric as a creative collaging medium, playing with different ways to manipulate and combine layers of material to create a finished “fabric painting.” 

Participants will use design and composition techniques to make use of line through both drawing and stitching, layering, and the use of color and form to convey intention and emotion. 

All materials are provided, however, if you desire you can bring along an item or items that have an emotional connection and that you’d like to incorporate into your work.
