Event Description:

Are you ready to take your fall foliage photography to the next level? Join Truckee-based professional photographer Grant Kaye on a casual walk around the aspen groves along CA Route 267 between Kings Beach and Northstar as he helps you build on foundations to fully unleash your creative vision. Learn strategies for better composition, pre-visualization, and the use of smartphone apps to anticipate and plan for shooting during better lighting conditions.

We will also cover fundamentals of photography, including creative long exposures with slow shutter speeds, along with use of depth of field to bring your vision to life through photography. This workshop will specifically aim to create fantastic images of colorful fall leaves. Any kind of camera is welcome in this workshop, as Grant will focus the session on fundamentals of composition and learning the art of "seeing" instead of focusing on the technical aspects of photography. Those with SLR cameras will be able to make use of manual controls, so if you have or can borrow an SLR it is highly recommended. Participants will be informed via email of the specific meeting location on the side of CA Route 267 the day before the workshop.
