For June's Good Morning Truckee; we are honored to welcome three members of the Washiw (Wá∙šiw) Tribe for a special length (2 hour) Good Morning Truckee. Speakers include: Dr. Lisa Grayshield, Executive Director of the WZGT (Washoe Warriors Society), Darrel Cruz, retired THPO Officer for the tribe, and Tribal Council Chairman Serrell Smokey to share valuable insights into Washoe (Wá∙šiw) history and current LANDBACK efforts across the Truckee-Tahoe Basin. Don't miss this opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions about honoring the Wá∙šiw. This special-length program will run until 10:00 am, which will give our speakers extra time to share their stories and and allow for open conversation between our speakers and the community
Good Morning Truckee is a community forum to provide timely, relevant information on a variety of topics. It is open to the public – everyone is invited. It is held the third Tuesday of every month at Truckee Town Hall from 7:45-10:00 a.m. Good Morning Truckee is offered in person and is recorded for viewing at a later date if you are unable to attend in person. Registration begins at 7:45 a.m. and the program starts promptly at 8:00 a.m. Ticket price for the general public is $15 and $10 for Truckee Chamber members and includes a continental breakfast and ticket for a chance to win a door prize if you bring your business card.
These events are very popular and great for meeting other community members. Whether you are new or have lived here for years, hearing from our leaders in the community is an enjoyable way to stay on top of important issues, connect and engage. One of the great things about living in a small community like Truckee is that you can personally know your leaders and work with them to make a difference.
