Event Description:
Chaun Owens-Mortier of the Truckee-Donner Historical Society will highlight the "Jezebels," "Soiled Doves," and "Fallen Women" that lived and worked on Truckee's backstreets. A member of the TDHS since 2008, Chaun is currently its Secretary-Treasurer and Archivist/Recorder for the Truckee Cemetery District.
Her presentation gives the overall history of Truckee's Red Light District and the women who lived and worked there. Come and hear, in a non-judgmental way, the story of the lifestyle and the role the ladies played in the building of the West. Light refreshments will be offered.
