Celebrate Earth Day with Mountain Area Preservation (MAP) at the Downtown Community Arts Center in Truckee on Friday, April 20th from 5 pm - 9 pm for the 3rd Annual Wild & Scenic Film Festival. The evening will be filled with award-winning films focused on adventure, activism, and conservation. Kick off earth day weekend with three hours of inspiring films, a raffle, local enteratainment, food by Nourish and libations.
Don't call it a night after the Film Festival, join us down the street at Alibi Ale Works for the WSFF Truckee Afterparty! Mojo Green will be performing live music from 9 pm to midnight, and all Film Festival attendees will get $1 off beers all night. $10 cover at the door.
Continue the celebration on Sunday, April 22nd with MAP's stewardship project at Trout Creek Pocket Park from noon to 5 pm. We'll be giving back to our local watershed by cleaning up the creek, park and planting native plants.
The Wild & Scenic Film Festival was started by environmental advocacy group South Yuba River Citizens League (SYRCL) in 2003. The festival's namesake is in celebration of SYRCL's landmark victory to receive “Wild & Scenic” status for 39 miles of the South Yuba River in 1999. The festival is now in it's 16th year and goes on tour all around the world by partnering with like-minded environmental organizations such as MAP.
Tickets are now on sale online here or in person at Tahoe Mountain Sports in Truckee.
All ticket purchases come with a 2018 MAP membership!
