However, nonprofit board governance is a set of skills that must be learned and practiced. This four-part series on board governance prepares you with the tools and knowledge you need to create real change in your community. If you are ready to step up into a higher leadership role and guide a nonprofit board, this workshop series is for you. If you are already a board member and want to hone your skillset, this series will give you resources and knowledge to strengthen your board service. Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation approaches the breadth of board governance information by blending several resources and interweaving the most valuable pieces into four (4) workshops. Workshops are delivered in three parts: Theory, Practice, and Interactive Application. June 18th, 2025: Strategic Planning and Evaluation Approach the scope of your organization’s work by establishing and adapting a strategic plan. June 25th, 2025: Fundraising 101 Identify prospects and donors, develop a fundraising plan, and form and deliver a request that aligns with potential and existing donors.
