Date: June 17, 2017
Time: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM PDT
Event Description:
Come on down to this free annual event for kids ages 12 and under. Held at the Cold Stream Pond behind Donner State Memorial Park, this event is jointly sponsored by the Nevada County Fish and Game and the Truckee Noon Rotary Club, with generous support from Mountain Hardware and Sports, Truckee.

Teach your kids to lie like a real fisherman. Where 5" becomes 18". Where one fish becomes 20.  Don't know how to fish yourself? No problem "experts" will be on hand to help out.

Food and soft drinks will be available, should you not catch a fish. No boats allowed please.

Local sportsman and angler Bob Tilton founded the event 29 years ago with the vision to draw children to a sport they could pursue for a lifetime. He started the derby to give youth another option for healthy recreation while keeping them out of troubl
e.
