Event Description:

Join Atelier owner Heather River for this hands-on sewing workshop. Students will use their own sewing machine to learn how to sew fabric zipper pouches. Zipper pouches are a fun, practical and easy sewing project. In class, students will review the basics of setting up their machines, how to troubleshoot common sewing issues, techniques to make your project a success, and walk away with a finished product that you can easily replicate on your own at home.

Students will need to be familiar but not expert with their machine and have taken Sewing Basics with us.

YOU MUST HAVE YOUR OWN SEWING MACHINE TO TAKE THIS CLASS

NECESSARY SUPPLIES (BRING TO CLASS):

1/2 yd of fabric A (preferably a heavier weight cotton or light weight canvas)
1/2 yd of coordinating fabric B
1 spool of Multipurpose thread to match your fabric
Sewing machine (with manual, if available)
2-3 bobbins
Sewing machine needles (Universal needles labeled "90/14" or "14(90)" size should be fine for most fabrics and come in packs of 5 in most brands)
Seam Ripper
Straight pins (I like the kind with the large different colored ball heads)
Small thread snips (tiny scissors)
9 inch zipper of your choice (metal or nylon, either will work)
