Time: 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM PST
Event Description:

Squaw Valley Institute (SVI) in partnership with Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows presents Leadership Across the Mountains with Retired Rear Admiral Navy Seal Scott P. Moore and the Karakoram Group.  The Karakoram Group is comprised of former leaders from every level of our nation’s elite special operations units. Learn how to identify ways in which local businesses and leaders can optimize their operations and develop culture and collaboration across all levels of staffing.

“Investing in people is just as critical as investing in technology: the skills that make a great leader are not the same skills as a great Navy SEAL or a great ski patroller or groomer. On any given day in a mountain environment like this, you can’t predict what’s going to happen. In that situation, when you are working with the team from the top to the bottom of the mountain, it often starts not with telling but with listening, not with micromanaging but with empowering and enabling, and not with separating people but with bringing them together. That’s where the magic happens.”  Dave Cooper, Founder, Chief Strategy Officer and Chief of Operations for Karakoram Group.

Rear Admiral Moore is the co-founder and senior partner of the Karakoram Group.  Moore has 30 years of experience leading SEAL teams including; Desert Storm, Just Cause (Panama), Bosnia, Mogadishu, 911, and Haiti.  Before he retired, he led over 2,000 missions.
