Name: Truckee Historical Revue

Time: 7:00 PM - 8:30 PM PDT
Event Description:

A musical based on the history of Truckee was the brainchild of late Truckee Tahoe Community Chorus founder Chris Nelson. Following his death, Chris’ family donated the seed money to start making their loved one’s dream a reality.  The Truckee Historical Revue, an original production composed and written by David Wendell Nelson, with additional music by Richard Blair, is the realization of this vision.

The production begins with the Native American era and culminates with the 1960 Olympics.  It includes stories and songs about the Gold Rush, transcontinental railroad construction, Boca Beer, personalities and legends, Chinese and Irish immigrants, the Donner Party and more.  Performers include about fifty talented local and guest singers and musicians all in period attire, including Truckee Tahoe Community Chorus (TTCC), barbershop group the OK Chorale and Chinese singers.  McAvoy Layne will narrate as Mark Twain and historic photos in a video presentation will accompany the show.  The Revue debuted in May 2019 to sold out audiences.

This show is made possible thanks to the support of the
Town of Truckee, Truckee Chamber and Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation.
