Join the Nevada County Office of Emergency Services for a Lunch and Learn discussing the update to the Community Wildfire Protection Plan (CWPP). The CWPP will assess Nevada County?s wildfire hazard and wildfire risk, as well as prioritize areas for multi-benefit wildfire risk reduction actions. The CWPP will become an integral collaborative planning tool for prioritizing wildfire risk reduction activities throughout the County. Learn the secrets of Donner Summit as you hike with local historians. Saturday has eight hikes of varying degrees of difficulty to choose from. The hikes will be followed by music with Alice Osborn and lunch. The after-lunch presenter is Greg Palmer, our local historian, who will tell stories from his 30-yrs of leading hikes. Sunday is a walking tour where you learn about the grueling mishaps of the Donner Party and the archaeological finds that remain.
