Martis Camp Club, Tahoe’s premier private club and community, is seeking a full time, year-round Accounts Payable Accountant to join its growing accounting team.
 
This position is key to running our business and interacts with every department on property.  It is best suited to someone that truly enjoys working with others while multi-tasking on a variety of detail-oriented tasks.
 
This position requires a standard 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday and occasional scheduled overtime.
 
Position Summary:
Maintain accounts payable system to pay Martis Camp vendors timely and within terms.  Communicates promptly with members of the management team about current and outstanding invoices.  Ability to review invoices and statements and ensure proper coding.  The Accounts Payable Accountant role supports the Controller with other aspects of the accounting department. This position requires a standard 40-hour work week, Monday through Friday and occasional scheduled overtime.
 
Job Tasks:
Accounts Payable
  • Process accounts payable from invoice data entry to mailing checks
  • Ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices
  • Maintain invoice records for MCC, MCCA, DMB/HG, Hopkins Village LLC, and Lahontan LLC
  • Post recurring invoices
  • File invoice copies and make folders for all vendors by company
  • Reconcile monthly vendor statements
  • Set up new vendors in Jonas and obtain W9s
  • Fill out credit applications for new vendors
  • Accrues use tax on invoices as required by law
  • Send 1099s and file 1096 annually
  • Quarterly reporting and reconciling of Non-Resident Service Provider to Franchise Tax Board
  • Maintain binder for Liability and Worker’s Compensation Insurance for Independent Contractors
 
General Accounting
  • Complete month end check list and associated journal entries
  • Assist co-worker with printing and mailing monthly statements for MCC and MCCA as time allows
  • Pick up cash from bank for caddie fund
  • Distribute mail to appropriate department manager
  • Other duties as assigned to assist the Controller to meet the goals of the department, as well as the overall goals of the company
Minimum Qualifications:
Required:
  • Minimum of 2 years’ recent relevant experience in a similar accounting position
  • Excellent excel skills
  • Great work ethic and strong communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Maintain confidentiality of information and records
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug screen (which includes marijuana)
Requested:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or related field
  • Knowledge of/experience with Jonas Club Management software
  • Private club experience preferred
  • Ability to work at a high level with a highly efficient team
