Job Description
North Tahoe Business Association is seeking a Community Relations Manager passionate about North Lake Tahoe

North Tahoe Business Association (NTBA) is a non-profit 501(c)6 member-based organization that was established in 1979, has a volunteer Board of Directors, several volunteer committees, 200+ members and ~ 100 volunteers. NTBA’s mission is to improve the economic vitality and quality of life in the communities of North Lake Tahoe from Carnelian Bay to Crystal Bay. NTBA produces 17 community events annually, plus co-produces 3 small business seminars annually. NTBA’s business activities are dynamic and ever changing.

The Community Relations Manager is responsible for most membership and volunteer duties, leads the execution of some events, assists with all events, and assists with other programs and initiatives of the organization as assigned. The Community Relations Manager is responsible for all administrative duties and aspects of the organization. The Community Relations Manager reports to the Executive Director.

The Community Relations Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Membership Responsibilities
  • Possess solid understanding of existing NTBA members’ businesses/organizations
  • Develop, maintain and enhance mutually beneficial relationships with members
  • Refer potential clients to members and connect members together for mutual benefit
  • Ongoing and accurate fulfillment of all membership benefits
  • Assist members with maximizing benefits and finding most value in their membership
  • Identify new potential members
  • Assist with meeting/exceeding annual budgeted membership revenue and goals
  • Accurate member tracking reports and statistics
  • Maintain accurate membership databases and records
  • Execute member processing and billing procedures for maximum efficiency
  • Solicit members for participation in NTBA events and programs according to work plans
  • Professional and timely member communications and relationship building
  • Member news portion of website and members’ email broadcasts to NTBA database(s)
  • Collection of membership and event sponsorship invoice payments
  • Assist in development of membership retention strategy
  • Serve on Membership Committee
Event & Volunteer Responsibilities
  • Lead the execution of several annual events and assist with all NTBA events? Required to work at all NTBA events and seminars
  • Retain, recruit and train volunteers for events
  • Develop, maintain and build relationships with volunteers
  • Volunteer scheduling, training and communications
  • Maintain accurate volunteer databases and records
Other Responsibilities
  • Accurate AMS/CRM, Constant Contact, G Suite and Quickbooks database management
  • Office supply ordering/stocking and office machine upkeep
  • Basic Quickbooks Accounting functions such as AP and AR
  • Administrative support as needed
  • Assist with new programs and initiatives as assigned
  • Maintain ongoing task/project list
  • Serve on NTBA Committee(s) as assigned
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills
  • High level of organizational skills and attention to detail
  • High Proficiency with Microsoft Programs and Google Apps
  • Experience with customer/member relations and retention
  • Experience with Web content management
  • Experience with AMS/CRM software and database management
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team player
  • Experience in website, marketing, social media a plus
  • Experience in non-profit sector a plus
  • Experience with Quickbooks a plus
Other Information
  • 34+ hours per week
  • Pay Range: $17-$20/hour DOE
  • Hourly At-Will Position
  • Expected to work all NTBA events and some meetings, some of which may fall early morning or go into the evening/night, and on weekends.
  • May be expected to work on July 4 th depending on the day of the week the holiday lands.
  • All hours worked will be at regular hourly rate unless more than 40 hours per week or more than 8 hours per day in which case overtime (time-and-a-half) will be paid.
  • Paid Holidays and Personal Days:
    • Eight (8) paid holidays: 1 day Memorial Day, 1 day Labor Day, 2 days Thanksgiving, 2 days Xmas , 2 News Year’s (start date for this TBD depending on hire date).
    • The days do not have to be taken on the exact holidays but within 2 weeks of the holiday. If the days are not taken, they cannot be carried over into the next year.
    • Two (2) personal days throughout the course of a calendar year to begin after 12 full months of employment.
