Job Summary: The Design Coordinator works with the client to analyze needs, create plans and specifications for new home construction. The Design Coordinator oversees the project start to finish determining the timeline, budget and style of the client projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Communicates with clients, subs, designers and employees in a professional and effective manner
  2. Researches and recommends materials and design elements of residential properties based on client goals and needs.
  3. Prepares proposals with specific materials and furnishings, such as lighting, furniture, wall finishes, flooring and plumbing fixtures.
  4. Prepares final plans, using computer applications.
  5. Creates a timeline for the interior design project and estimate project costs.
  6. Places orders for materials and oversees installing the design elements.
  7. Visits the site to ensure the project elements are being implemented appropriately.
  8. Other related duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in interior design or similar area of study, or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Two to four years’ experience in interior design and construction.
  • Experience in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Spreadsheets, Sage Contractor 100, P-Vault Paperless Billing and general computer skill sets are a must.
  • Organization skills to implement schedules and maintain client files
  • Problem solving items on and off site
  • The ability to think independently and be a leader for the success of each project and the company
  • Class C driver license with a driving record acceptable to the company’s insurance company.
This position will oversee a design coordinator assistant and coordinate with other designers both contract and in-house.
