Diagnostic Imaging Tech
Truckee Surgery Center is seeking a qualified applicant to fill our diagnostic imaging tech position. This person will assist in various areas of the surgery center. CRT Flouro certification required.
Performs radiologic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis. Assumes responsibility for designated areas and/or procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following:
Operates x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated body portions.
Selects proper technical factors on an individual basis.
Provides radiation protection to self and patients.
Assists physician in administering contrast media.
Responsible for delegated areas of authority in the performance of routine or special procedures.
Practices sterile techniques and prevents cross contamination.
Maintains adequate records.
Maintains order and cleanliness.
Secures and returns supplies.
Assists in departmental clerical duties, data collection, help turnover rooms, build charts for next day, answer phones, greets patients, patient registration, collection of payments.
Attends staff meetings.
Possesses effective communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
Participates in departmental growth and development.
Participates and does assigned QA duties consistently.
Pursues professional growth.
Adheres to the department dress code.
Demonstrates System Values in performance and behavior.
Complies with System policies and procedures.
Other duties as may be assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required: Graduate from an American College of Radiology accredited program of radiological technology. CRT Flouro certification. Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare certification. Must complete the 24 continuing education credits as required by the ARRT. Must be certified and in good standing with the ARRT and the CRT.
Two to five years’ experience in a hospital/ambulatory surgery center setting preferred.
