Human Resources and Payroll Manager

Job Description
On behalf of a Chamber Member, the following position is available

Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Process weekly payroll via ExakTime software and import into Sage Contractor 100
  • Ensure time punches are reviewed and approved daily by Project Managers via ExakTime
  • Reconcile employee deductions via payroll register
  • Obtain approval from Controller after payroll is finalized
  • Create direct deposit file and print payroll checks
  • Reconcile and pay Federal and State payroll taxes, garnishments and employee reimbursements weekly, monthly and yearly
  • All HR Compliance -Maintain employee life cycle from onboarding to termination including various reporting requirements and documentation (i.e.-job descriptions, offer letters, Martis Camp passes, etc.)
  • Maintain Workers Compensation Program including employee injuries, claims, safety meetings and communication with our carrier and Project Managers/Superintendents
  • Maintain Employee Insurance Program – calculate employee eligibility, update vesting and payroll deductions and compliance with ACA.
Additional Job Duties:
  • Work with managers and employees on HR issues that arise and document appropriately
  • Maintain intra-company communication
  • Maintain vacation and time off calendars
  • Organize Employee reviews, events, and recognition
  • Assist employees with accounting requests as necessary in absence of Assistant Controller or Controller
Education and Experience:
Required:
  • Human Resource and payroll experience in a 50+ employee company
Preferred:
  • BA/BS in Business Administration or Human Resources
  • Strong working knowledge of Sage Contractor 100, ExakTime and Microsoft Excel
  • Construction company background
  • Workers Comp and Safety Program administration

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perceptions and the ability to adjust focus.
