Dear Friends,
We look forward to seeing you back with us in 2021 for Downtown Truckee Wine, Walk & Shop. Unfortunately, with the current state of COVID-19 and many unknowns, we don’t feel it would be responsible to host the event this October.
This was not a decision that we took lightly. There are many factors that we considered when we discussed the pros and cons of holding the event. Ultimately, the health and safety of all participants, including the customers who purchase tickets and attend the event each year as well as the small army of those behind the scenes, was our top priority.
The many years of success this event has enjoyed has been a direct result of our partnerships with our valued retail outlets, restaurants, wineries and sponsors. Morally, we felt uneasy asking any of them to allocate funds or donate goods for our event during a time of undue stress and financial pressure.
In the end, we simply felt it would be the right thing to do to press the “pause button” for a year. Rest assured, we will be back stronger than ever and look forward to continuing to operate one of the favorite events for locals and visitors alike in October of 2021 when the time is right for us to gather again safely.
