Vehicle maintenance and repairs just became a whole lot more fun at Quality Automotive and Smog in Truckee when you adventure out on their courtesy cruiser e-bike.
Adventure #1 is the Donner Lake Loop, an approximate 8 mile loop that is easy to accomplish, especially on a comfy e-bike. With a new shop location on Donner Pass Road, it’s a breeze to hop on over to Donner Lake where there is a designated bike trail and flat terrain. Stop at a dock, drop in for ice cream at Truckee Ice Creamery, stop off at Shoreline Park or play tennis at West End Beach. The road takes you in the back pedestrian entrance to Donner State Park. On the way out of the park, check the “new” state park museum which has free entry. The bike comes with a lock, so feel free to secure it and venture out on the interpretive trail along Donner Creek. If you’re up for the “assisted” climb, there are a few ways to extend the ride and have some amazing photo opportunities by venturing up Old Highway 40 to the Rainbow Bridge or into Coldstream Canyon.
Bring your own helmet or use one provided by QAS. There’s no better way to spend your day than out and about at Donner Lake. Reserving the e-bike is recommended when making a reservation for service.
