Donner Party Mountain Runners is a grassroots 501(c)(3) non-profit running club. We exist to inform, inspire and connect mountain runners in Truckee-Tahoe. Membership is open to anyone interested in sharing a run with us.
The Truckee-Tahoe region has long been home to many avid trail runners. We have recently created this club to share our passion for trail running in these beautiful mountains. Our name honors the early emigrants to California, especially those in the ill-fated Donner Party, who faced the mountains under very different circumstances. They were, like modern trail runners, UNAFRAID.
Donner Party Mountain Runners is a 501(c)(3) non-profit member club of the Road Runners Club of America. We are locally governed by a volunteer Board of Directors (you have probably met at least one of us on the trails!)
