    The trailhead for the Pole Creek Trail system is 6 miles south of Truckee on Hwy 89 with some free parking on the west side of the road.
    There are 25 miles of unmarked trails that follow forest roads along Pole Creek and Silver Creek drainages.

    The difficulty level varies with an elevation range of 6,200 to 8,400'. Several loops offer downhill practice areas for cross-country skiing. Closed to motorized vehicles.
